Amy + Mark’s Winter Wonderland Wedding

It goes without saying that most couples hope for bright and sunny weather to grace their wedding day.  Mark and Amy had booked their wedding on the first day of spring hoping for such a warm and sunny spring day.  But as the day approached, it became more and more evident that we were in for some heavy precipitation.  Luckily, what was forecasted as mostly rain, turned out to be the snow. And just like that we had a beautiful winter wonderland wedding, on the first day of spring!

There’s something to be said about the calm and quiet that engulfs you while out in the falling snow.  Capturing Amy & Mark’s portraits with the light and fluffy snow falling all around us was a magical experience.  Big kudos to Amy for braving the cold and indulging all my ideas.  I tend to get a bit overzealous when it an unique setting arises (fresh snow) and I just love it when the bride just rolls with it!

As for the rest of the wedding?  I’ll just mention the following: There are many ways to describe how great Amy and Mark are, but here’s a 2016 way of describing them: If they had a podcast, I’d tune in every week!  The entire wedding was a reflection of their warm and loving nature and their friendship and connection was keenly evident all day.

Thank you, Amy and Mark, for allowing me to capture the first chapter of your new book together.
